About Burgau	Burgau is a traditional small and quiet fishing village located 10 kilometers from the town of Lagos. It’s protected beach has been awarded the distinguished Blue Flag for its pristine condition.
Fun and relaxation in and around Burgau – from Lagos to Sagres…	Burgau is home to one of Portugal’s first and finest beach bars, which has gained recognition as far afield as the New York Times. There are numerous cafes and restaurants serving local specialties. Several allow you to dine on fresh fish and vinho verde while gazing at the moon over the Atlantic Ocean. The surrounding countryside is outstanding for hikes and famous for its beautiful floral smells. Other options include horseback riding, bicycling, golf, tennis, sailing or exploring the “hinterlands.”
Where is Burgau?	Our village is located 80km (1 hour) west of Faro Airport.

→ hospital and doctors :	in Burgau there is a medical center (centro de saude) in case of an accident but the next hospital is in Lagos (10 km). In Luz there are private doctors speaking english and german.
→ pharmacy :	is in Luz (3 km).
→ laundry :	there is one in Burgau right in the oposite of the bus stop (map)
→ embassy :	there is the english and german embassy in Faro (80 km) and a consulat in Portimao (28 km).
→ postoffice :	there is one in Luz and one in Lagos. In Burgau is a mobile postservice.
→ public telephones:	there are two public telephones where you can use a phonecard and several bars where you can pay for calls.
→ public transport :	there is a bus service to Lagos 6 times a day, and to Sagres 5 times a day. The bus stop is outside Burgau.
→ vet :	the next vet is in Espiche (7 km)
